MARTIN CONNOLLY and Paul Jordan have stepped down as Mayo selectors.

Connolly and Jordan quit as Mayo selectors

They informed manager James Horan of their decisions shortly after the senior management team met to carry out a review of the 2011 season.

Their announcement leaves James Nallen and Tom Prendergast as Horan’s remaining selectors.

Connolly and Jordan were primarily involved with planning most of the team’s training sessions in conjunction with the manager.

“There’s a huge amount of time required and I just couldn’t give it the commitment for another season,” explained Connolly, a physical education teacher at Rice College, Westport.
