All Star players set to pocket €1,500 in new merged awards

THIS year’s All Star footballers and hurlers will each receive €1,500 with the player of the year in each code picking up a cheque to the tune of €5,000.

The development comes as the GAA and GPA have merged their award schemes into one for Friday, October 21. As was present in the GPA awards, each player will be rewarded monetarily for the use of their image for promotional purposes by the new sponsor.

In addition, each of the 10 players of the month (five in each code — May to September) will receive €1,000.
