Dunne expects Tipp’s 30-somethings to return to lead fight

THE metaphorical tumbleweed stumbled across the foyer of Tipperary’s Burlington Hotel base yesterday morning.

Compared to 12 months previous when it was a hub of joy and celebration, this was a virtual ghost town. Coach and selector Tommy Dunne offered himself up to attempt to articulate the feeling of disappointment.

While he was disheartened the team didn’t play to their potential, the Toomevara man sounded a confident tone about 2012. He also insisted there is no reason for Brendan Cummins (37 next year), his own brother Benny (32 in 2012) Lar Corbett and Paul Curran (31), Eoin Kelly and John O’Brien (30) not to carry on.
