PAT GILROY is confident Diarmuid Connolly will be cleared to play in the All-Ireland SFC final at his hearing on Monday night.

The St Vincent’s man was handed a proposed four-week ban for an altercation with Marty Boyle last Sunday.

However, Gilroy said: “I genuinely think that the committee, because similar things have happened this year... I don’t think it will go further than Monday.

“I genuinely believe that he has got more than a fair chance.”

Meanwhile, Paul Flynn is extremely optimistic he will have recovered from a hamstring strain in time to face Kerry.
