Cullen says patience won ‘dogfight’

Yesterday’s defeat of Donegal should have salved the wounds left by previous All-Ireland semi-final defeats in which he had been involved — the collapse against Mayo in 2006, the close call against Kerry 12 months later and the mother of all meltdowns against Cork last season.

They would be entitled to scream from the rooftops but there is still a final to be won. A cup to be claimed. Fail to do that and yesterday’s victory will be worthless, even if this was the day when his side finally broke through the glass ceiling that had so often stunted their ambitions.
