Scans have revealed the An Ghaeltacht star did not suffer any tear to the hamstring he injuredin a behind closed doors squad training session at Fota Island Resort, Cork, last weekend.

However, the defender faces an intensive physiotheraphy regime over the coming days in his race to be fit for the clash at Croke Park.

Kerry also have concerns over another defender, Shane Enright, who is also struggling with a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, scans confirmed that Tyrone skipper Brian Dooher didn’t suffer a broken jaw playing for his club Clann na nGael on Sunday. Medics confirmed yesterday the injury is less serious.

Dooher picked up the injury in the league win over Killyman, in which his club and county colleague Stephen O’Neill scored 1-4.
