Extra week’s break was a blessing for Dubs, says Cahill

Cahill, who has played in almost every line for the county, revealed the squad have endured high intensity sessions since their provincial final victory over Wexford.

He explained: “We knew there was a big performance in us. We didn’t set the world alight in Leinster but coming into the game the last four weeks had serious intensity in training. You have got to credit the whole panel. There is 33 or 34 lads there and the preparation couldn’t have been better. The extra week probably benefitted us because we were able to get another (squad) game under our belt and try a few things. Fortunately they came off.”
