BUFFERS ALLEY had 11 points to spare over a disappointing Aksamore/Kilrush outfit in Saturday’s Wexford SHC clash at Wexford Park.

The winners led 1-4 to 0-1 by the 10th minute with the goal coming after Pat Kenny forced the ball over from close range. With Pat Doran superb from placed balls Buffers Alley led 1-10 to 0-7 at the interval with Frank Boggan keeping his side in touch. But the winners stepped on the gas after the restart with Doran, Tomas O’Leary and Bobby Kenny firing them to a 1-19 to 0-11 win.

The opening game of the doubleheader was somewhat of a relegation battle between St Anne’s and Glynn-Barntown.
