Keaney ruptures cruciate in bike crash

ANTHONY DALY confirmed Conal Keaney has ruptured a cruciate and will undergo surgery on his knee next Friday.

“He did his cruciate on the motorbike which is hard to believe. He’s in the Santry clinic and I think he’s being let out this (yesterday) evening.”

Daly admitted the setback was unsettling. “We had planned to go with Liam Rushe at centre-back and Joey Boland at No5. Michael Carton came in and did a great job.”
