Dazed O’Dwyer savours success

BLOODY and bandaged and a little incoherent at times, if it wasn’t for the three goals and a Dublin victory you could be mistaken for thinking Ryan O’Dwyer didn’t enjoy his 25th birthday yesterday.

But he surely did. Back from suspension after missing the Leinster final and playing in his native Tipperary for the first time since making the switch to the capital, his 3-2 performance couldn’t have been sweeter.

O’Dwyer was replaced a minute from time after shipping a nasty blow to the head. The three-minute delay actually helped Dublin in the sense it took the sting out of Limerick’s momentum.
