Harnan: Let’s keep it in-house

FORMER Meath selector Liam Harnan has called on the county board to keep their business private as they consider the future of Seamus McEnaney as senior manager.

Harnan believes too much of Meath’s dirty linen has been washed in public of late and hopes the county will now conduct the process as confidently as possible.

Along with Barry Callaghan, Harnan stepped down fromMcEnaney’s backroom team after the Monaghan man decided to recall previously-retired Graham Geraghty to the panel in May.

It is understood the Meath pair had not been informed of McEnaney’s plans to reintroduce the veteran before it had already been made.

Harnan refused to comment on McEnaney or Meath’s 2011 season but said: “I feel Meath football should put up the private sign for the next few weeks as opposed to doing their business in public as they have done over the last two months.

“It’s now time for things to be kept in-house.The future of Meath football will be decided by the county board executive and the club delegates. Whatever the executive and the club delegates want is what will happen.”
