Sars to begin defence against Kickhams

CHAMPIONS Thurles Sarsfields have been drawn against Knockavilla Kickhams in the first round of the Tipperary senior hurling championship.

The draw was made at the monthly meeting of the county board, and the eight first round ties will be played over the weekends of July 17 and 24.

Teams which reached divisional semi-finals enter the championship at a later stage.
