‘It’ll be tough but tough we can do, Dalo’

ANTHONY DALY revealed a text message from Ger Loughnane shows his former All-Ireland-winning manager is prepared to fight his battle against leukaemia.

“In some ways, I always think of Loughnane as nearly indestructible, in his own sort of way,” said the ex-Clare captain, now manager of Dublin.

“Nothing ever got to him. He has a fight on his hands but as he said in a text back to me ‘it’ll be tough but tough we can do, Dalo’. No better man, if anyone can turn it upside down, he can do it.”
