Cooney defends final ticket price hike

GAA President Christy Cooney has defended the organisation’s decision to increase the price of an All-Ireland final stand ticket from €70 to €80.

Cooney defends final ticket price hike

The GAA announced on Saturday that while admission to qualifiers up to and including the All-Ireland semi-finals would be cut by €5 they also revealed there would be a jump (12.5%) for the marquee games.

Cooney denied it was a case of increasing the price knowing demand outstrips supply on All-Ireland final days but revealed it was done to compensate for the €5 across-the-board cut for lesser games.
