Tough third round draw for Cloyne

CLOYNE will play either Douglas or Ballinhassig in round three of the Cork SHC after the draw was made at Páirc Uí Rinn last night.

The east Cork side, beaten in three county finals in the last decade, have been handed the tough draw after they were defeated by last years Premier intermediate champions Ballymartle last weekend.

The loser of the Killeagh v Bishopstown game will play Bride Rovers in the other game.

In senior football, Valley Rovers have been handed a difficult draw against either Ballincollig or Na Piarsaigh, while the losers of Newcestown and St Nicks will square off with the losers of Ilen Rovers and Dohenys, who play tonight in Skibbereen.

In the Premier Intermediate hurling ranks, Valley Rovers, who last night suffered their fourth straight championship defeat of 2011, will play either Youghal or Watergrasshill, while Mallow/ Argideen Rangers and Inniscarra/ Kilbrittain will battle it out at the other side of the draw.

In football, it’s Newmarket versus Grenagh, while Mayfield or Glenville will take on Carrigaline, who were beaten by Naomh Abán last weekend.
