GAA will issue Twitter guidelines, says Cooney

THE GAA won’t ban inter-county players from using Twitter, but they do intend to supply them with further guidelines about the use of the social media.

GAA will issue Twitter guidelines, says Cooney

GAA President Christy Cooney yesterday confirmed: “We have issued guidelines and we’ll be adding more as we go along because this is a new media and we have to respond to it on an ongoing basis. It’s down to people themselves. It’s just that they’d want to be careful.”

Cooney knows the GAA has no right to censor players but believes inter-county players should realise that they represent their county off the pitch as well as on it.
