The Carbery side had six points to spare in the end but were made to work hard for their victory, St Catherine’s coming within two points midway through the second-half.

The former senior club played second fiddle to the Carbery outfit for much of the opening half and led just once in the game, Brian Mulcahy’s superb goal in the 20th minute giving the Saint’s a brief impetus.
