Geraghty: I’m up to the challenge
The 38-year old has come back into the Meath setup ahead of tomorrow’s Leinster SFC quarter-final against Kildare at Croke Park but is adamant that he is determined to fight for his place.
“I always kept fit and I wouldn’t go in unless I was able to play at that level.
“The one thing I wouldn’t have lost is my sharpness. I’m still fairly quick over the first 10 or 15 yards and for the position that I play that’s all that counts. I spoke to the players as well before we played Galway in a challenge game and said there were no promises made to anyone, that I was asked to come back in and fight for my place like everyone else. It wouldn’t have been fair otherwise.
“Overall I’d admit the reaction has been mixed. The people I’ve met have been positive but then I suppose they wouldn’t say otherwise to my face.”
