Lynch’s Cork hopes suffer setback

CORK finalised their preparations for Sunday’s Munster SFC semi-final against Waterford with a highly competitive inter-squad A v B game at the official opening of Kilmichael GAA’s magnificent complex in Annahalla.

Lynch’s Cork hopes suffer setback

It was the second game in three days for the majority of the players as Cork defeated Monaghan by four points earlier in the week. On the evidence of Saturday’s contest it’s clear the champions are in no mood to surrender their title.

Long-serving Anthony Lynch was hoping to stake a claim for inclusion against Waterford, but he was forced to withdraw with injury after 10 minutes. On the plus side, UCC duo Barry O’Driscoll and Mark Collins, both of whom won Sigerson Cup medals earlier in the season, were hugely effective in attack on the A side, while Eoin Cotter, Sean Kiely and Conor O’Driscoll shone for the B team.
