Clare hero O’Connor talks up Dubs ahead of Leinster opener

DUBLIN Senior hurling boss Anthony Daly had his former Clare team-mate Jamesie O’Connor give a motivational talk to his panel ahead of Sunday’s Leinster SHC quarter-final against Offaly at Croke Park (2pm).

O’Connor, who scored the winning point in the 1997 All-Ireland final, spoke to the players last on Tuesday.

Daly is keen to ensure his side’s minds are focused for the tie after their historic Division One final win over Kilkenny last month.

Last month, New Zealand rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick spoke to both the Dublin senior hurling and football teams ahead of their respective league finals.

Meanwhile, hurling full-back Tomás Brady remains a doubt for Sunday’s game with a medial knee ligament problem.
