Mayo reject Horan’s plan

MAYO football’s future will be decided in the boardroom after the county board decided to force their own strategic plan through.

The board had asked an independent steering committee, led by well-known GAA journalist Liam Horan, to formulate a Strategic Action Plan following the county’s disappointing losses to Sligo and Longford last year.

However, after consulting with 86 people and proposing a plan to radically change the way Mayo GAA operates, their proposals were not endorsed by the board, who will propose their own plan on Wednesday night.
