Down call up McAreavey

JOHN McAREAVEY has been drafted in to Down’s 32-man panel for the upcoming Ulster championship.

According to BBC Northern Ireland, McAreavey, husband of Michaela Harte, who was murdered on honeymoon in January, has been in impressive form of late for his club, Tullyish.

His selection for this year’s panel comes just weeks after he led the club to victory in a Division 3 match where he scored 1-12 against Newry Mitchels.
