A major lift for lively Longford

IT was a Croke Park day of rare splendour for the Longford footballers on Saturday.

Carrying off the spoils in a Division 4 league final will not command too many headlines in the end of year GAA reports but it was a notable triumph for the Midlands county.

In a game of largely sub-standard fare, Longford rose above the mediocrity in the second-half to put this game to bed.
