DUBLIN’S last appearance in an NHL final was in 1946, when Clare won the title for the first time after a replay with a team which included Anthony Daly’s uncles, John in goal and (captain) Haulie at left half-forward.

It was the first league final since 1941, with the competition being suspended between 1942 and 1945 because of the Second World War.
