Walsh makes 10 changes as Rebels seek atonement
Donal Óg Cusack takes over in goal from Anthony Nash while dual star Eoin Cadogan replaces Eoin Dillon at full-back. The other change in the full-back line sees Conor O’Sullivan make way for Stephen McDonnell while John Gardiner and William Egan are also recalled to the defence.
In attack, Michael Cussen drops to the bench in place of his Sarsfields clubmate Kieran ‘Fraggy’ Murphy while another Sars’ man, Cian McCarthy takes over from Bill Cooper at centre-forward.
The Rebels are out of contention for a league final place after the defeat to the Yellowbellies two weeks ago but the Dubs have every chance of making the decider, should they manage to win.
The Kilkenny team to play Offaly in Nowlan Park on Sunday shows seven changes in personnel and a number of interesting positional switches from the side which defeated Dublin in their last game.
Into the team come P.J Ryan, Paul Murphy, Jackie Tyrrell, Richie Doyle, T. J. Reid, James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick and Michael Rice. Jackie Tyrrell, Michael Rice and 'Cha' all return from injury. The most interesting positional change is the move of Brian Hogan to full back and John Dalton to centre back.
It will be a League debut for Richie Doyle of Barrow Rangers. Doyle was centre back on the Kilkenny All Ireland minor winning team in 2008 and played on the Cats Under 21 team last year.
