LAOIS are prepared to agree an amendment from GAA President Christy Cooney to their proposal calling for the inter-county closed season to be shortened.

Their proposal, if successful at congress on Saturday, will see the moratorium on collective training reduced to November. Currently, the closed season extends to November and December.

However, Laois chairman Brian Allen revealed they have no issue with a point raised by GAA president Christy Cooney at a county chairmen’s meeting that inter-county activity should also be closed off from December 20 or 21 to December 31.
