O’Leary to captain Kingdom minors
Tadhg Morley will start at full-back, while Gary O’Leary, who captains the side, forms a midfield partnership with Shaun Keane. Thomas Hickey and Padraig Boyle who both take their spots in the half-forward line, are the other survivors from last year’s team.
The Kingdom defence sees a notable inclusion in Padraig Ó Sé, son of former county great Páidí, at right corner-back.
In attack, Jeff O’Donoghue, who starred for the Cork Vocational inter-county team earlier this year, starts at left half-forward while Ciaran Keating and Jamie Moriarty, who impressed in the Corn Uí Mhuirí for Coláiste na Sceilige and Tralee CBS respectively, both start in the full-forward line.
Tipperary boss David Power can call on three members of last year’s minor team for their trip to Limerick at the quarter-final stage in Kilmallock tomorrow evening.
In defence, full-back Conor O’Sullivan and right half-back Bill Maher were both involved last season. In attack Liam McGrath, who is also a key figure for the county minor hurlers, will captain the team from his centre-forward position.
