Talented McLaughlin on hot scoring streak

Geraldine McLaughlin (17) registered her tally playing with the county senior and minor sides, along with Loreto College.

The scoring rush began in Ballyshannon on Sunday week with three goals in the National League win over Mayo.

Two days later she hit a staggering 7-8 for her school against St Genevieve’s High School (Belfast) in an Ulster decider and she completed the rout on Saturday with 2-8 against Cavan, in the Ulster minor championship.

Her scoring exploits are not just confined to GAA. A fortnight ago scored a hat-trick for Loreto, Letterkenny, in the FAIS Schools All-Ireland semi-final victory over Ursuline Convent, Sligo before netting twice in their 2-0 final success against Eureka College, Kells on Tuesday.

She is Donegal’s top scorer in the National League with 10-9 from five games.
