Carrigaline force replay with late frees

LATE frees from Killian McIntyre and Michael Lynch earned Carrigaline Community School a draw in this Corn an Uachtaráin (Munster Colleges SBFC) final at Fermoy on Saturday.

Having led by four points (1-7 to 0-6) with 14 minutes left, Carrigaline looked set for victory, but Abbey, inspired by a Diarmuid O’Donnell goal, came storming back and looked set for the silverware.

Lynch and McIntyre, who each scored three points, along with Jamie De Puis provided most of the attacking initiative for Carrigaline, who began the game well. Jamie Kind’s goal gave them a 1-2 to nil lead inside 10 minutes as he bundled home a loose ball.
