Dual-star Lucey in fitness battle
The Limerick hurlers face Westmeath in Division 2 on Saturday afternoon in the Gaelic Grounds while the footballers play Waterford in Dungarvan on Sunday in a Division 3 clash.
This weekend is the first time this season where Lucey and fellow dual player Mark O’Riordan are required by both inter-county managers for league action.
Limerick football boss James Horan is set to delay naming his team until Friday as he has other injury problems to contend with. Centre-forward Stephen Kelly is battling a shoulder injury while Fr Caseys defender Eoin Joy has a knee injury.
Newcomer Jack Hoare (ankle) is also a worry while Cappagh forward Seamus O’Carroll takes part in the Munster Handball Championships.
Meanwhile, Donegal will be without Kevin Cassidy and Rory Kavanagh for Saturday night’s Division 2 football clash with Tyrone in Healy Park.
Cassidy is on holiday while Kavanagh has a groin injury.
