Mulcahy Cork’s ace

VALERIE MULCAHY scored 3-3 as champions Cork beat Kildare 4-11 to 0-15 in Ballykelly in their opening Bord Gáis Energy Ladies NFL match.

At half-time, Cork held a slender one-point lead, 1-5 to 0-7, and a plucky Kildare outfit went ahead in the second half before Cork scored the match-winning goals.

Catherine O’Malley and Mary Hulgraine both scored four points and were leading players for the Lilywhites, who were on top for spells during the game.
