Galvin set to step out for DIT

KERRY star Paul Galvin has been cleared to compete for DIT in this season’s Sigerson Cup but is set to face a race against time to be fit for their opening round clash against UL on February 17.

Galvin is recovering from surgery on a hip/groin problem and Kingdom boss Jack O’Connor said at the weekend the Finuge man is a few weeks away from a return.

That places his availability for the tie in Grangegorman against UL in doubt. Galvin played Sigerson Cup for UCC between 1999 and 2002. His new DIT teammates will be in action tonight against his alma mater UCC in the HE SFL Division 1 final in Ballykelly in Kildare at 7pm, a game postponed before Christmas.
