Blow for Dempsey as trio opt out of panel

LUKE DEMPSEY is planning without three of Carlow’s brightest dual stars for his county senior football panel next year.

Eddie Byrne, Denis Murphy and Alan Corcoran have indicated their desire to line out for the senior hurlers in 2011 instead of the footballers.

The news comes as a blow to the Westmeath native, who had hoped to call upon the services of the trio, who were members of last year’s U21 football team.
