Young Brogan gets chance to impress
Michael Fitzsimons, Michael Darragh MacAuley and Eoghan O’Gara will line out for Dublin, while Rory O’Carroll, Cian O’Sullivan, Niall Corkery and Alan Brogan are included in the Dub Stars team. Dublin boss Pat Gilroy has named Paul Brogan, younger brother of senior stars Alan and Bernard, at full-back for the clash with regular number 3 Rory O’Carroll set to be unavailable for the league campaign due to study commitments in France.
Dublin’s team also features Paul Flynn, Kevin MacManamon, Paul Conlon and Paul Casey, while James McCarthy and Cian Mullins, who both won All-Ireland U21 medals in 2010, have also been named among the starting 15. The football tie is preceded by the hurling clash of Anthony Daly’s Dublin side and the Dubs Stars hurlers (1.30pm).
