Walsh set for first team action with St Kilda

FORMER Young Footballer of the Year Tommy Walsh is edging closer to the first team with AFL side, St Kilda.

Renowned as a goal-scoring target man playing for Kerry, Walsh impressed in the half-back line for the Saints’ feeder club Sandringham in the VFL last term. And his efforts have not gone unnoticed by senior coaching staff.

Head coach Ross Lyon plans to switch Sam Gilbert to the forward line next year to provide more support to captain Nick Riewoldt.
