Two-year term for Counihan, still a Rebel with a cause

CONOR COUNIHAN insists Cork cannot afford to be complacent as they prepare to mount the defence of their All-Ireland SFC crown next season.

Counihan’s acceptance of a new two-year term of office was officially confirmed yesterday morning and that will see him in charge until the close of the 2012 campaign.

After guiding Cork to their first Sam Maguire success in two decades last month, Counihan is adamant that the county needs to work to avoid such waits for championship glory.
