Celbridge fail to make quarter-finals

CELBRIDGE were the major casualties after the round-robin series of the Pfizer Kildare senior football championship concluded on Saturday.

Needing a win to make the top eight, their 1-13 each draw with Allenwood knocked them out of the reckoning.

That point was enough to secure a place in the quarter-finals for the Blues, who were inspired by Johnny Doyle.
