Ryan throws name in ring for Déise hot seat
The most successful manager in the history of ladies football, Michael Ryan of Fourmilewater, will be a candidate for the role. The position is up for grabs since the end of Fitzgerald’s tenure after the county’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Tipperary.
Ryan said that having been approached by several former players, and members of the present panel, he allowed his name to go forward. While Fitzgerald has yet to declare his intentions, sources expect him to seek reappointment.
It is expected a sub-committee will be appointed at tonight’s county board meeting to consider candidates. The final decision rests with club delegates.
