Murphy stars as Saints advance

THE superb free taking of John Paul Murphy ensured St Vincent’s got the better of Kiskeam in a scrappy Evening Echo Premier IFC quarter-final at Kilmurry last night.

Murphy kicked three magnificent points from placed balls in the second half at a time when Kiskeam had threatened to spoils the Saints party.

The best score of the night however came from the boot of Vincent’s goalkeeper and reserve Cork keeper Paddy O’Shea, who pointed a 45 in injury time to put his side into the semi-final where they await the winners of the Clyda Rovers/Grenagh clash.
