Bring in video technology now, urges Kildare chairman

KILDARE chairman Pádraig Ashe last night called on GAA chiefs to utilise video technology.

His comments came in the wake of two controversial decisions involving umpires in the county’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final loss to Down on Sunday.

Kildare chiefs were angered when Alan Smith’s first-half point attempt was waved wide and minutes later Down’s Benny Coulter fisted a controversial goal with officials failing to spot a square ball infringement.
