AHERLOW retained their West Tipperary SFC crown with a hard-fought win against Galtee Rovers in a free-ridden encounter in Lattin yesterday.

The season came to an abrupt end for Galtee Rovers as both teams needed to win the divisional crown to retain their interest in the county senior football championship

Seamus Grogan was the star man for Aherlow with a 1-2 first half haul but the towering county player blotted his copybook in stoppage time after receiving a straight red card from referee Paddy Russell for a high challenge on Colin Morrissey.
