Andrews tipped for Cavan

VAL ANDREWS has emerged as the front runner to be appointed Cavan senior football boss, with Terry Hyland set to once more link up with him as his coaching sidekick.

Andrews tipped for Cavan

The Cavan County Board management committee last night met to consider Andrews’ candidature and whether they will put his name forward for ratification to succeed Tommy Carr.

If Andrews appointment is rubber-stamped, it will be the Dublin native’s second stint in charge in Cavan after previously being at the helm between 1998 and 2001. He went on to manage Louth for the 2004 and 2005 campaigns.
