Kilmoyley in tough battle
Shane Brick scored nine points while Micheal Regan and Luke Fitzelle scored 1-3 between them. The losers were too reliant on Shane Nolan, who scored all but two of his side’s total. Kilmoyley raced 0-5 to 0-2 in front by the 16th minute thanks to efforts from Shane Brick (2), Darren Young, Eoin Sheehy and Padraigh O’Sullivan while Nolan had both Crotta scores.
Nolan then goaled and Crotta led for the first time. Brick and Nolan went on a scoring spree as the sides retired level on 0-9 to 1-6 at half time. Kilmoyley then hit 1-5 with only a point reply. Points from Shane Brick (2) and one each from Tom Murnane, Darran Young and sub Luke Fitzelle were followed by a Micheal Regan goal.
Crotta refused to give up scoring a goal via Nolan but Kilmoyley’s greater experience told in the end.
