Ryan: We didn’t play to our best

WEXFORD boss Jason Ryan admitted his side were never in contention to record another famous qualifier triumph in Wexford Park yesterday.

Ryan said: “The fact that the lads fought and fought until the very end, just shows the spirit that they have. But we’ll go away thinking that we didn’t perform to our capabilities and that’s the disappointing thing.

“Their handling was superior to ours in the second-half. They kept the ball out of contact and were in control of it. Credit to them for that. We went down the field in the second-half and weren’t as clinical as we’d like to be.
