Walsh praises Déise battlers

MICHAEL ‘BRICK’ Walsh, Waterford’s star centre-back, was a unanimous pick for man of the match after a towering display.

And he was full of praise for his teammates’ “great battling performance” in the Munster final replay.

“Any day you win a Munster final it’s a great day,” said Walsh. “If you looked at the game I suppose nobody would be too afraid of the hurling, but it was a great battling performance by ourselves.
