KEN McGRATH insists he is ready – and almost certainly able – to play the full 70 minutes for Waterford in next month’s Munster SHC final if called upon.

The Mount Sion man didn’t miss a single championship match between his debut against Tipperary in 1996 and the opening game against Clare in the 2008 campaign but he has been dogged by injury in the interim.

Last season was a disastrous one with a knock during the drawn game against Limerick leading to an operation which only saw him return for the dying minutes of the All-Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny. This year has again been a slow burn.
