Not to the point of doubting Cork’s ability to finish the job in Páirc Ui Chaoimh tomorrow, but there’s still a nagging sense of an opportunity lost in psychological terms.

This Cork-Kerry thing may not even rise to the crescendo some expect later this season in Croke Park, but if it does, then going to Killarney and dishing out a comprehensive hiding to Kerry for the first time in 15 years would have been an important step on the road.
