The St Vincent’s club man had grown increasingly frustrated by his failure to break into Anthony Daly’s championship line-up and informed the manager of his decision on Monday.

Daly introduced five substitutes in last Sunday’s Leinster SHC quarter-final victory against Laois at Nowlan Park but Fallon wasn’t one of them.
