WATERFORD hurling star Dan Shanahan has overcome a late injury scare to make himself available for selection for today’s Munster SHC clash with Clare.

Late scare for Shanahan

The 2007 Hurler of the Year picked up a leg injury over the weekend in a training session and initially there were fears the Lismore man might miss out on the Munster semi-final.

However he was declared fit to play last evening and is now expected to take his place at full forward for the Déise in Semple Stadium today.
