Murphy’s law as impressive Mallow power past tame Castlelyons
The 13-point victory in no way flatters the north Cork side, as they were on top in all departments against the side relegated from senior level last year. But special mention must go to their half-back line of Diarmuid Kerrisk, Fergal McCormack and Tadhg O’Riordan.
That trio, ably assisted by wing-forward Michael Maher dropping deep for Castlelyons puck-outs, were imperious and were instrumental in the setting up of scores, of which there were many as the forwards feasted on good service.
